Etymology
The name 'Rolance' is a portmanteau, with 'Ro' meaning 'Low', and 'Lance' meaning 'Point'. Thus, the combining of the two roots in translation, forms the word, Rolance (Low Point). The oddness of the portmanteau it may be. The word Rolance, in practice, sounds much befitting without the breaking of its roots. Commonly, Rolance denotes the Empire, whilst the term 'Rolancent' refers to its inhabitants.
History
Antiquity
Imperial Amalgamation
With the Death of Augustus I in, his son who took the regal name of Augustus II proclaimed the Imperial Enactment of Unified Provinces, establishing the Apricot Concord. Which would be the foundation to Empire of Rolance. Augustus' proclamation would inherently declare war against the neighboring kingdoms who opposed his reign: Merdia, Persius, Maeve, Artima, Calenti, and Vestius. However, Pleucur & Leonus would join the Concord as it proved beneficial to establish a unified realm.
With the backing of Pleucur and Leonus, Augustus' military boasted 200 thousand strong; which enabled him to launch a 2 front war against the Peridiaus Unanimity, Calenti, and Artima-Maeve. The war persisted over a course of 28 years, which ranged from sieges, pillaging, to razing of anything that may aid Augustus' opposition. The Peridiaus Unanimity was the last to remain its ground, fighting to the bitter end. The War for Amalgamation would result in a historical all-time high of deaths, approximation in the tens of millions. The Aftermath would consist of Imperial Provenance of Rolance, and the coronation of Maximus de Mæledius, the regal name Augustus would take as Emperor of Rolance.
However, Maximus' reign would end shortly as his arrogance got the best of him as he was challenged by a mere common man named Demetrius. A battle to the death, which resulted in Maximus being decapitated at the hands of Demetrius, and by ancestral law the victor would take prize in all that the defeated possessed. Thus, Demetrius would be proclaimed as Vorn de Đrægonia, the Emperor of Rolance who would establish the ever-lasting Đrægonia Dynasty centuries after his death.
Suraga Addendum
The Suraga addendum would be a period in time, where Rolance was suffering from an influx of refugees, which many would call an invasion. This invasion persists over 7 months until Avercee I, the great-grandson of Vorn. Decreed the nationalization of the refugees and granted them land they could call home on the condition that they pledge their loyalty to the crown. Which refugees would accept without hesitation... This agreement would fruit in new technologies, such as the mending of Platinum, which birth the famed Platinum Knights, the elite soldiers of the imperial crown.
